And so I went to my first preview at Fotografiska on thursday night, day before opening for the public – Christian Tagliavini. It was very nice, they were preparing until the very last minute and then we saw the curtain drop down, so we could peek in on all the new lovely artsy photgraphs hanging on the walls. We were welcomed. Time was six pm, so still an hour left until speech and time to enjoy all.
I was the very first person to enter and look inside, although the others where just the footsteps behind me. I took a friend with me. We looked at the helmets made, used in the photographs, says they are 3d printed and took lots of hours to prepare, print and then also the finishing work put into them. Further in there is a short video where you see some of the pieces of the helmet being painted on, and you also get to see the precision and care taken into consideration when making the card photograps of hearts, spades and others. The model in one of the pictures being shown how to stand, pose, express etcetera. The photographer wants to show us some fantasies, to inspire us and think about the world.. from time back and bring in new elements of the future or fantasies as well. It can make you feel good, or even not, stir emotions.
We see some other visitors holding wine glases and figure out there is a winetable further in, so we go and get som nice wine as well, was possibly Merlot. My friend has also just had his birthday so we say Cheers and spend a bit of time talking on the art and happenings for a while. It will be open until one o’clock so no hurry.
Time turns seven, and we hear a nice short speech on how Tagliavini has cooperated with Fotografiska at an earlier time some years back and now this has led to this exhibition. We are further told a bit on his interests and where he has lived abroad, and that has cultivated his interest for design, art and symbolism. He is Schweiz-Italian and lives in southern Schweiz. He makes a very short speech himself too.
I appreciate that the photographer takes a bit of time to answer some of the visitors questions, I learn how the photographs are made so that the models have really long and small necks completely without photoshop.. not saying how.. The photographers did know a few things on how to play with photos as well, back in the day, I know that from earlier. Later I see him walk a bit with his daughter. It’s getting late, and it’s almost empty, we leave.. a bit more enlighted.. with some thoughts on endless possibilites of creating..
One should never forget the play, that is what keeps us moving forward in life, find the small pebble rocks to step on forward, one by one, and dance!
