So.. I was listening to Bashar the other day, or more exactly “Waking Universe with Darryl Anka & Bashar (youtu.be/DyNwxRMgJbY) and decided to try it out a bit more.. and I think this day just got very interesting.. It has the idea that life isn’t a plan to get from a to b, and that if you allow yourself to follow your cravings to go from crazy point to crazy point you will actually get much fast to point b from a, than if you try to follow any strict and and unfun plan – how amazing isn’t that?
I set out to go to the christmas market at Konstfack on the saturday and passed a mall, they were serving beverages with christmas “glögg” (mulled and spiced wine) for free and on top of that “julkärve” of oat for the birds (see main picture for example), also for free, so I said thank you and went home with that first. Perfect for the birds as I am aiming at taking many beautiful bird pictures in the near future..
Then I set out to Konstfack once more, and as I pass a station where I need to change tube I hear someone call on a small child with my nickname.. and forgot what else to that – was something more, maybe that the child was sooo fast and ought to slow down. was hurrying down the stairs in front of the parent..
I’m outside the building at station Telefonplan, I get in line.. long freezing wait, over half an hour even if it felt more like fifteen minutes, excited to get in and look at what the students have made..
I enjoyed the creativity a bit more the previous year, but it was still nice to see stuff, someone made earings and bracelets out of clove and pearls, another one was printing art by using some of her father’s photos that he didn’t want to use, mixing it with artpaper pieces so they got some centimeter thick each and then used for printing.
It was crowded, after a while I feel I need a cup of coffee and just maybe something more. I stood in the queue for maybe fifteen minutes to realize I only wanted to buy coffee, and after that realized even more that they didn’t have regular or so called cow milk and last time I tried coffee with if it was soy bean milk or oat milk it only tasted the later for me so I returned it.. and asked when the restaurant changed the concept, it was since September, they don’t believe in cow milk. A whole big school, Konstfack (www.konstfack.se/en/), with all of those art and design students.. and no regular milk, I think and wonder if everyone is vegetarian here, the restaurant is even vegan, not vegetarian.
I continue to look at art. Several seem to have the theme of avocado, how to grow avocado – one was a glass circle with hole in it that you can float on water with place for avocado core, another one made as a christmas candle light holder for four candles, but instead place for four avocado cores and toothpicks on side.. for 300 sek..
You can manage to do the same with just toothpicks and a glass of water.. but buy something that makes it quick and simple ‘n’ takes a bit of space at home, diy – what is easy for you, economical, worth.. each to their own taste and preference.. I feel a similarity that I am starting to think of applying to photography, diy wise.
I find a card I like, it’s of a deer (in swedish; hjort), and she tells me of how she is fascinated that they fell their horns each autumn and grow new one’s each year.. and how she wanted it to somehow grow together with the tree in the picture, since the branches of the tree can look like antlers too.. and that she had made the antlers out of trees instead on the deer, also on its back and it’s surrounded by a pink surrounding and a couple of trees with yellow leaves.. I can’t stop looking at it so I get the small one for twenty sek.
I continue to look at art that is sold, thinking about what makes it interesting to buy art at all. I also look at some shawls that are handmade and close by some really beautiful candy, almost looks like glass candy. The one who has bought them isn’t there and the girl next to it says that several has said that already.. and by some chance a guy just turned up and says where they must have been bought. I sooo need to get these! For some photo project..
I find some beautiful gemstones in two different bowls, it’s not the main art the guy is selling, but he tells me many young children like to grab a bunch, and that he got them in south africa, most probably cape town… I stand there for a while… it’s like candy land… and take five that holds my attention.
After a while find and enter a second smaller café that they have built up in one of the rooms. Do they have regular coffee? Yes! Fat milk? No. 1,5%, ok will do.. While I sit there, drink my coffe and eat a saffron bun, I contemplate on why I haven’s seen my friend Teresa with her beautiful art, that is supposed to be there at the fair too. Guess who I see the neXt second, through the window from the café? Haha, I smile, there she is – right in front of me! I go and speak to her for a bit..
I turn my shoes home, in the tube I find a spot to sit down, a few stations down a man with a bit black magician hat comes in and decides to sit in front of me, he also holds a staff and has accordingly dressed after the theme, our eyes meet after a short while and my smile is contagious, he also smiles shortly and then gets back to his supposed to be serious look. Right to him there is already the guy with the skeleton sticker, and of course I have my snake ring on..
Time to change tube again, same station as previously and of course someone almost yells my name again, although this time it’s “Elisa”… okey, I hear you..
Apparently this was one of those “My days” :- )
