Stones are a part of the earth, with an animistic view they are also alive, just as the trees, birds and all else living material. Did you ever watch Indiana Jones? As a kid I was fascinated with his adventures, there is one called “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.” I really enjoyed it, and it made me wonder if these existed.. although it was put in a different kind of setting than how I would imagine Crystal skulls to work, it’s a movie..
What I will say about stones is that they are lovely and that you do not need a crystal stone for it to be an important stone, you can actually just go with one in nature that calls to you. Things do not need to have a cost, they need value. We come from nature, so yes, it’s nice to be in nature, feel nature, get a boost of energy, to summarize some things that you can do while in nature to wind down:
1. You can sit there with the trees, wind and flowers and not get judged. Feel the peace instead.
2. Listen to the whispers of the wind, do you hear a message, the birds, the leaves playing in the wind, or something else?
3. Walk around and see what you feel drawn to. Take a note for yourself what this is.
4. Look around and see if you see any animals? What do you see and what are they doing?
5. What are the colours that you see around you? How does it feel?
6. Do you smell the fir needles, fire from a camp, the soil or something else where you are?
7. Are you using all your senses? Besides the five common one’s of sight, smell, taste, touch and hearing, we also have movement (vestibular) and awareness of our body position (proprioception).
Using several of our senses makes us land more in the now and have awareness and let go of thoughts of the past and future for a while. Let go of tensions that you have been carrying around. Feel this new feeling and take it with you, even when you leave the forest and/or nature where you have been visiting.
